An identity that feels like me
DRACZ is my business name, so the identity needed to reflect my own taste as a designer. I wanted it to feel bold and brutalist, with the simplicity that draws me to typography. The name leads: heavy uppercase letterforms with enough presence to stand on their own, supported by a compact symbol for smaller spaces.
Finding the right gesture
I explored an asterisk, a square stop and a cropped D alongside the slash. Each gave the name a different ending or a separate symbol to work with. The slash felt right because it brings direction while keeping the lettering central. It also has a direct relationship to the name: its angle comes from the diagonal of the Z.

The slash comes from the Z
The Z and the slash share a 50.1-degree diagonal. The slash also matches the wordmark's cap height, giving the lettering and symbol a common geometry. I refined the spacing by eye, judging the white space around each pair rather than making every measured gap equal. The A's diagonals and the C's curve need different treatment to create an even rhythm.

One wordmark. One compact symbol.
The full wordmark keeps the business name visible. The standalone slash gives the identity a smaller form for places such as a favicon or icon. Both are supplied in black and white, with checks at small sizes to see how the shapes hold up. The proportions and angle stay consistent across the two forms.

Built for where it appears
I worked through website-header and business-card application studies alongside the logo. They keep the identity simple: a clear wordmark, strong contrast and room around it. The same full-name and symbol system now carries into this website, from the header to the small browser icon.

Ready to use
The finished lettering is outlined, so the logo artwork does not rely on an installed font. The final set includes an editable Illustrator master, vector PDFs and SVGs, transparent PNGs, and icon and favicon sizes. It gives me a consistent identity to use across my own work, with typography at its centre.
